Rooting cuttings help!

Do you have to root cutting inside under a light? e.g CFL or LED? I tried a while ago outside in a small container with holes but they didnt root, oddly enough they didnt die tho, if you can root them outside can someone please give me some pointers? cheers

Depends what you use as rooting hormone?? Iv jus had 4 ak47 clones sat on my widowsill in coco pellets using willow water they all rooted in 1 week and I'm in the uk with hardly any sunlight. But then to balance the arguement I had 10 ghsc the church clones I took and used dutch pro take root and put them under a 250w mh light and only 3 of the ten took. So for me it all down to the strain and what hormone you use as clones don't need a lot of light also try snipping the ends of the leaves on the clones as this will slow perspiration and allow them to spend more time producing roots. Hope this helped

im using a powder, thanks heaps man, like i took some before like a month ago and the never rooted but didnt die, like the leaves remained green ect

Ye I get what ur sayin. I find the powders not to work very well. My best tip I have for u is find a willow tree cut off the branches that are a yellowy green colour( the newest shoots) cut them up really small and put in a container and pour hot water on it leave for around 24-48 hours and use this as rooting hormone I have never found anything that works better of as fast as this does. And the reason your plants stayed green is the rooting hormone keeps the plant alive whilst it produces roots it doesn't actually produce roots for the plant also asprin can be used as rooting hormone. Did you know that all rooting hormones, asprin and willow water are the same thing? Yes they are Exactly the same chemical make up. I have also use asprin but this takes longer than willow water or most rooting hormones.

Getting cuttings to root requires having the light on 24/7. I use a 60W bulb in my dome room. Works for me.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Don't say things unless u kno them to be true.

U can root a clone on 12/12 schedule if u wanted too. I fact u cud root it with less than 8 hrs. I've done it. Outdoors

Not sure y u posted that link. Didn't really explain anything at all

If u want to root em outside. Get jiffy pellets or something similar. Cut clone bang it In glass of water to remove air bubbles. Then plant it. Snip tips of leaves. Fine mist the plants at morning and night or whenever dry.

Keep soil moist and keep a dome on. I get roots showing in about 4 days. Which is faster than anything I've read. And that's outside on a short light cycle.

And genetics really have not played a roll in anything. All my cuttings root very fast.

I've also had cutting root with out ever being misted I just left the dome on for a week straight and it was good to go. It's really simple don't over think it.
