Roots Already coming out the end of the Aeroflo!!! What do I do?

I put my plants into my diy aeroflo about 36 hours ago and they are already creeping out the ends? Can I put a stocking or something on the end to stop them?

I recommend finding a way to install a filter or non-metallic screen. If you can help it try not to cut the roots but if you have to in order to install your filter. They will be fine. If you cant find a way to lock the roots from the rez. For sure cutting them is a better choice then letting them hang in your rez. Good luck.

Roots hanging in your reservoir isn't the worst thing in the world, it
would happen in my aeroflo and nothing bad came of it.

Home depot carries some kind of root blocking clothlike material, it's
used to run that thick black riveted plastic pipes through so that roots
don't grow into them. Only problem I had with the stuff was that
it would buildup with stuff and cause some kind of funky oders. I would
change it out weekly (stuffs pretty cheap) if you do use it, or just not
even worry about it and cover up the roots dangling into your res.
