Running 2 autoflower's vs 1 autoflower. Pros and cons??

Hello all, got a quick question. I have a 400w MH/HPS light and was wondering which would be better, running 2 autoflowers, who are not in direct light, both sharing a single light or just running a single plant, where she can get the full benefit of having the light to herself. Do you think running 2 would still yield more? If that makes sense lol Id probably LST them as well.

Thanks all!

IMO with only 2 plants under 400w HPS. Both sharing the light should be completely fine. I would wait tho on a second opinion as I am also a newbie but from what I have researched you should be fine. I believe the actions you put into each plant will determine the yields.

Hope my opinion helps or at least gives you something while you wait for more confirmed responses.

Depending on space run as many a you can do .. I pop 3 at a time EVERY 2 1/2 weeks as to keep a rotation ..... Plant and harvest. I keep similar type strains together ( all Sativa ) , etc.

Sativa Autos will take longer than advertised .. Breeder times will vary as to harvest window.

Harvesting today :

Godfather OG

Harvesting in a few weeks

Harvesting ( next week )

Auto Blue Dream ( front plant )
Candy Dream. ( week 2 ) flower

By keeping a rotation of autos , you can harvest every 2 or 3 weeks and keep the weed going.

I always do pairs of SAME STRAIN autos so I end up with my favorites curing just weeks apart !

Definitely pop 2.... or even 4, assuming you have at least 2.5 x 2.5 feet of grow space..

Reasons
1) Autos are unpredictable as to height/size/yield
2) With just one plant you have all your eggs in one basket. If you break or damage a plant at least you have another going..
3) As mentioned it's good to have a rotation going..
4) Seeds can be male... This just happened to me.. If you have two going then you will probably be ok..

Here is a little auto I have going now.. No fuss, no muss,,, All I did was toss a seed into some coco and feed her a few times..

Hey Sunny - how old is that auto you got going? Im trying to decipher the sizes of mine and how they are doing...Your autos look great. How tall on average are your autos getting and what are their yields?

I totally agree about #1 reason above. I started off with only 2 autos and after fuking 1 up I said fuk it and brought out all of my auto seeds - 8 more to be exact and germed and planted all of them. I started out with 10, and have messed up 3 (one just didnt grow, the other I stunted terribly so I just pulled it and the other is in the pot now but for the life of me I think its stunted again and I may pull it as well) or its the genes of the plant as its acting just like the other one. Its Alien vs Triangle. Both seeds have started off like they are stunted. Also the Alien vs Triangle looks male to me but it may be way too early to confirm.

So definitely. Good idea to pop a few of them as Sunny stated. Out of the 7 I have going now, 3 are Dark Devils, 2 Sour Diesels and 2 Alien vs Triangle. As stated above I think I will be thrashing the A vs T as I think its a male and the smaller stunted one I may just pull and get rid of it considering the other one ended up being male.

I am considering just throwing a dinafem critical (photo) in with the autos and just let it veg under the 18/6 light cycle until the autos are done (about a month and a half) then switch the critical to 12/12 to induce flowering.

Sunny - Could you please review my autoflower post and let me know what you think about the pics/plants?

Thank you all very much for the replies! Ill definitely give 2 or 3 a shot next time. I have like a 2.5f by 6f closet area, which should be okay. Right know i only have 1 plant going (Cheese candy by Delicious seeds) and was just worried about not having enough light for all plants. Ill probably upgrade to like a 600w next grow as well. Thanks again! appreciate the replies!

Look'n good... Probably need more light at some point.. I've never had a large auto. I've probably grown 4 or 5 of them.. I typically end up with short, squat plants that are mostly one big bud. I guess I yield abut 1.5 ounces or so in 2-3 gallon pots.. I tend to neglect them a bit.. One day I'd like to luck out and get a really good auto seed..

Thx. It’s been 3 days and the FIM paid off I think...both dark devils have 3 tops now and are starting to fill their canopy.

I’d like to get more vertical growth so I am moving the light up to see if they will stretch a bit. The internodes are pretty tight right now which isn’t a bad thing I guess. I’d just like to get more height.

I’m using 5 gallons now but do have 2 dark devils in one and two alien vs triangle in one pot. Trying to see how much of a relationship the roots will have and hope they don’t get too root wrapped and kill each other. However I did read that same like plants don’t actually fight with each other but help each other in some form of symbiotic relationship.
