safe to start with MG ???

Is it safe to start a germinated seed in Miracle Grow Seed Starting Potting Mix? It sstarts feeding the plants nutes right away ... I know normally giving the plant nutrients right away isn't good but i bought the soil before i knew that. I figured this soil could be alright because it is seed starting soil. Is it alright??

I personally do not like MG because i find it very unpredictable. I had a hard time figuring out the amount of nutes to use because MG has time released nutes. As for the starting mix, i didnt have any troubles with it, i just wouldnt ever use it again.

Hey Joey...

if you are going to use MG...

you should seriously consider starting your seeds in rockwool or peat pellets.. this will give your YOUNGSTERS a buffer!

ON another serious NOTE... MG soil has a very low pH.. sometime it is near 5.0

In the past I have watered my plants with 8.0 water for the first 3 weeks.. (then switched to 6.

with fantastic results..

i've started all mine in mg and never had one die(because of that anyways) on me. and that's like 100 plus seeds.

Well I personally luv and use miracle grow moisture control.I have used it for years and never lost a plant clone or seedling in it.I dont use the other types just miracle grow moisture control. Started my moms in it at 1 inch and they are over 5 feet now and no problems lush fat and greenn
