SCROG...any input? Experience and advice needed.

Simply explained, it's a way of spreading your plant out, so more of it gets light, and you can grow fewer plants in the area.

You put a screen, like 2 inch chicken wire, about 10 inches over your planting medium, and when the plant grows up to the screen, train the branches outward in all directions. As the shoots grow, continue training them by looping under and over the screen. When the screen is 2/3 full, induce flowerng and continue training. When the screen is full, the flowers will shoot up everywhere, filling the area with buds.

sorta get it but what the point?

ha your gettin there......is soo you dont need large plant numbers for the space...you can have one plant fill up a 4 foot by 8 foot area and in that area your going to have a even carpet of buds...not christmas\s trees,,,its helps the light so it spreads it to all the plant area....its the best way to maxx out amount of dried bud in the end...

Ahhh! I get it. So thats what scrog means. Cool!

Title says it all, i have never seen picture of set up or how to set it up(when) thought i would ask here.
No more off-tilt than other threads in here, but this is supposed to be the Advanced forum, and you haven't even browsed the site??
Anyways, wanna see some nice scrogs, search out Kalikitsune's posts/pics.. There are a few other true artists out there I'm sure too.. Its seriously an art-form though, and like any artist, you will be at tremendous risk of going insane.. I think God used my screen to punish me for something when I was SCROGing..:) It created so much damn work to merely keep problems at bay.. Noobs should definately know this going in..
Its one way to get a good canopy, but not the only one.. Have you read Uncle Ben's topping thread, or M Blaze's FIM thread in this forum.. They don't use screens..

That is an interesting way to maintain an even canopy. in terms of final harvest is there a difference in dry weight as opposed to bending or topping? If so i might even experiment with my boring vertical hydro setup!

Here is a picture while changing out my res and flushing the container.

Dude your pic just made a light-bulb go off in my head.. The way you used pvc for your scrog perimeter could work as a sweet CO2 dispersal method..
