Scrog screen size, 1" or 2" opinions?

Hello all, just got myself a mesh panel for my scrog screen. The gaps are 1", but I have cut parts out to make it 2" as that is what I have read it should be. The gaps just seem a bit big though, my screen is only 13" by 13", although I think I will stick to the 2" gaps.

Really all I would like to ask is, has anyone used a screen with 1" gaps before? And, any pros / cons of 1" over 2"?
