Seed not growing

So I had 2 seeds, put them in paper towel and they both popped and I put them in the soil. One grew nice and is looking perfectly fine. The other still hasn't come out of the soil. I put them in the soil Friday night. So it's been 4 days. They are 2 different strains. Do you think I should put a new seed in paper towel? Only have room for 2 plants.

I moved the top of the soil to see what was going on and it looked like the root grew since I put it in the soil, but it seemed like it was growing sideways. The shell seems like it isn't going to fall off and start the green growth. :( now I'm going to be a week behind if I have to start a new one

Hi Dutchhaze!,
paper towel method works, however handleing the seeds during germination can be very stressful. if you want to get near 100% germination success follow this simple method.
upload_2014-9-23_9-21-58.jpeggrab some of these or something simular. I like to use this brand because they have beneficial enzymes and bacterias for propagation.
1. i first soak plugs in slightly acidic(5.5 ph warm water. )
2. plug your seed into the whole.
3. put into some kind of humidity dome. (seeds and clones need HIGH humidty for proper root growth)
4. find a reptile heat mat(low heat)
5. cover and wait, usualy they pop within a few days sometimes 48 hours ad will thrive in this enviroment.

general rule of thumb is DONT touch or check roots. just moving the dirt around once can stress your baby and she wont pop.
keep waterever you use to propagate nice and moist and warm.

I will be starting some new seeds in next few days if you want to follow along in my blog:)
good luck and happy growing

yea i use the jiffys little soil discs that when soaked expand into a small contained enviroment that has everything init needed to keep ur seedling untile ready for transfer then all u do is put the full thing in your medium and progress from their..had some pics but my phone is down at the moment...
