Seedlings with nute burn :/

  • Hello All

I have 4 plants on the go that sprouted just under a week ago, They are just growing their second set of jagged leaves. But just now I noticed some yellow spots on the tips of a couple of the leaves. Obviously I haven't used nutrients this early, But the soil I am using (Miracle Grow Expand'n'grow enriched compost) has nutrients in it already. I'm guessing this is proving a bit too much for the poor little things, Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could do? I don't really want to start again with different soil ideally but will do if needs be! Is transplanting into less nutey soil a good idea?

    Thanks

Soil looks nasty. She might be ok in a few days when new growth starts coming out. You're at risk of wasting good seeds by planting into soil like that.....
Compost is not ideal for MJ as it is alot thicker and heaver then regular potting soil, which you should of had... therefor the roots will not enjoy pushing their way through compost and can slow growth aswell.

That soil is ok but not for young seedlings. Also i think you have too much light on it at this stage ,its too intense, outdoor seedlings germinate and grow in spring when its cool. Next time use jiffys and cfls or a smaller hid.

If you want in the game as a newbe get ffof. Otherwise unless you are a very experienced gardener/grower struggle with otherwise. I suggest reading a ton of threads/journals and note what they are using for best success being new.
