Seeds in your bud!

Back in the day the only seeds available in my area were bag seeds. You squeezed them out of the bud and hoped you didn’t miss any. If you accidentally twisted one up in a joint it would typically explode and burn holes in your shirt

Pretty much everything back then was landrace from Mexican ditch weed to Thai Stick. The going price in this area was $15 a zip, the really good stuff was $30. As a kid in the early 70’s that was a lot of money! I bought a lot of nickel bags. Somewhere around the time I got my drivers license I happened upon a couple of really good bags, my introduction to Afghan and Hawaiian weed. I decided I needed to try to grow some so I found a spot out in the woods and went to town. Only 2 of the plants survived the critters, one was male and another was female, I believe the girl was Afghan and the boy was Hawaiian. The flower was some of the most heavily seeded I’ve ever seen but what a fantastic smoke. I made F2s the next year and they were amazing, most of the plants were fairly short and bushy and I ended up with about a pound of dried flower. Once I had picked all the seeds out I had 58 grams of beans. I figured I was set for life. Unfortunately the cops ended up with all my seeds, my favorite bong and some other stuff. But they didn’t get the biggest part of my stash.

Anyway, my question is, for the folks who make seeds, what do you do with the leftover flower?

Sorry for the rambling post, it’s that damn Willie’s Reserve

I grew up in the same timeframe, and I do the same thing I did back in the day. I pick out the seeds and smoke the bud. Of course you can also make dry sift hash, edibles, press it, etc. I personally don’t understand the whole new perspective that seeded bud is “bad”. All us old timers know the weed back in the day had more personality. I won’t go on to say it was better, had higher thc, etc. but you’d get sativas from Mexico and south, as well as Thailand and Asia, and indica from the Middle East as well as awesome Humboldt homegrown, and they were vastly different from each other but each wonderful in their own way, yet almost always there were seeds. Now lots of people are chasing the old strains that we all loved, and they were all seeded then, so why all the seed hate? I understand the plant uses some resources to grow the seeds, I don’t need a lesson in biology and I’m not trying to start some argument, I just think seeds get a much worse rap than they deserve.
