Setting up QB driver outside growroom

Hey everybody, I just bought a HLG 320 w XL QB kit and I wanted to extend the DC cord from the driver to the light so I can keep the driver outside the growroom. I only need about 5-10 feet extra. I can handle the wiring but needed a little help deciding which wire/cord is best for this setup. The driver is HLG-320H-C1750A. I was looking at a 16 awg solid copper wire (2 conductors) with a rating of 300v. Will this work? Is there a better option? Should I only be looking at the volts to decide which wire is compatible? Thanks for the help.

I’m not an expert by any means but I extended my HLG-600h-36v drivers several feet with just standard 16 awg solid core wire and they have ran fine for over a year.

You’ve got enough voltage capacity on the wire, I don’t see how the current would matter since the current isn’t even that high

Thanks! I'm having a hard time finding the solid copper wire. Where did you get yours? Will there be an issue with it being stranded?

Only difference is my driver is outputting lower voltage than yours as it’s a constant voltage driver but the wire Is rated for 300v so it should be ok

It's not the voltage you need to worry about its the amps. With a 36v driver you are supplying a lot of amps, I use 36v drivers with 16ga wire and you can feel the wire heat up..
I believe my drivers are the biggest meanwell drivers you can get. The 600w each ones. They were the biggest I could find at the time anyway. And my 16ga wire doesn’t feel like it’s warming up to me. Not any more than the room temp anyway
