Severely curled leaves

This plant is just under 6 weeks old, and the leaves have been curling quite a bit here in the past week or so. I've tried taking the light up higher, adding a fan in case it was heat related. Didn't think that would be the problem because the other 5 in the room are just fine. Tried not watering for a few days in case it was over watered. I'm at a dead end. Any other problems it could be or advice on ways to get the leaves to straighten up would be much appreciated.

I have a 40watt cfl on it right now. The light was 2.5 inches above it and now it's at 5 inches.

May have been the prob. Not sure. If you put the back of your hand close to the light and you can feel it, your plants can too. I'm not sure how much heat a 40 watt cfl puts out though. Any?

Hope you find your answer. The rest of your leaves ok?

I can feel it but it's not hot at all. Just a bit warm. I've used just regular lamp bulbs before and never had this issue though. :/ That's the main reason this has been bugging me so much.

As for the other leaves, the lower ones don't have any issue but all the new ones look like they're curling as well.

looks like the light is too close.. also from the pic it seems like some other plant to the right of this one is having the same problem, not as bad tho.. also other leafs look to be somewhat troublesome too (bottom right) looks to be like it has slight beginning signs of magnesium deficiency or lock out. post more pictures

image.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg I apologize for the delayed response, but over the last few days the curling has seemed to diminish slightly, the yellowing on the leaves appears to be getting better on newer leaves as well. Is thatthe magnesium deficiency you had mentioned?

That last shot seems to indicate that leaves are curling (often called taco'ing or caneoing) well below the top of the plant. Light stress would cause curling at the very tips, closest to the lights. Canoeing down low has to be something else. Heat stress? Wind burn?

some slight signs of mag deff.. you should look up symptoms of mag def.. yellowing of leafs from the tips and sides inwards, purpling stems, green veins on the yellowing leafs, usually occurs to older leafs first.. so on..

but that doesn't mean that they don't have enough mag in the media, just means those leafs aren't getting magnesium for some reason.. could be ph lock out or caused by some sort of stress or too much or too little of other nutrients that are causing the magnesium to be locked out.. something of the sorts! or what im thinking is that its just accompanied with another problem, whatever is causing those leafs to curl like that, which I think is the light being too close and burning, but I would do some research on that..

I hope Im able to at least help point you in the right direction! let us know and keep us updated.. Id love to know how the problem is fixed and hope to find out what caused it (:
