shade/fan leafs

How do I know which fan/shade leafs I can remove without affecting my bud sites. Like if I have a bud the has two smaller shade leafs can I removed the overly large one that is towards the bottom of the stem? Not comfortable posting pics

You'll get alot of opinions on this, or you might. Anyway I think ideally leave the leaves alone unless you are REALLY tight on space and over crowded. Then maybe take off a few of the largest ones blocking the other plants. But if you've got room, those leaves help the plant make food, and also serve as storage for later growth. I only pluck off damaged leaves most of the time.
