I seem to not have the green thumb. Although I can never let something be either. So I killed one on purpose because it just wasn't healthy, and the second got burned by a stupid reflective incadecent grow light (DO NOT USE THEM THEY SUCK, LOW LIGHT OUTPUT AND HIGH HEAT)

So since I am down to one plant I figured I might use it as the clone bitch when she shows promise.
For now I started soaking more seeds so I can prepare for another start. Bonus time is son and I can invest into a system that will actually work in my closet. I mean I have a 10x6 closet so I should be able to do something with it.

So I changed the soil 2 days ago and added lighting. I have 3 CFL's at 100w and 1 150w. Thats their rated output not the energy used. I think that is 23w and 45w.
So with a bigger pot, new dirt and new lights with a reflective background. This is what it looks like so far. Oh yeah and I topped it so she would "Y" out.

This is what my next project is to prepare for the new seedlings. I saw how someone else did "Y" splitters and had 8 lights. I just have to figure out the electrical gamut and see how much wattage will be used and how much this thing can take. I want to use 8 bulbs. 4 Daylight bulbs and 4 soft white. So I can cover the spectrum as best as possible. I can be very inventive but I would like to see if I can come up with a project that can produce what a 400W MH/HPS lamp can do. I think if you can grow with CFL's and Flo's then you should be able to produce somehow what those expensive setups can do.
I'm a junkyard kinda guy so I like to reuse stuff and make cool things out of it. I am waiting for my city's bulk pickup in Jan. After Christmas there ought to be tons of good pickin's :smile:

Well I will post a picture tomorrow of the "Dirt Monster" but so far it looks like the leaves are perking up and I have 4 sprouts out of the new grow box.
Indoor growing can be tricky, but looks like I'm getting the hang of it and not killing plants yet again.:weed:

My first indoor grow was a disaster. Wrong soil, wrong light, no fan. I should have written a book. "how not to grow Weed!"
By the end of my first grow, I had spent about $500. 400 watt HPS, Hydro system,, etc, etc... and then I was off and rolling.
Now I have about $2,500 in my system and it rocks.

Best of luck with the grow, just do not give up. :peace:

This is my Main top light and I had 4 26w 2600k lights surrounding my 1 plant. It is growing strongly but not fast in height. So after a bit of reading and paying more attention to what lights I was using I found out my CFL's had the wrong spectrum.
So I went out just now and bought 4 GE 26w 6500K CFL's and put the others away for later. Well I kept the big 42w running. Figured we need a few more colors in the spectrum just in case.

I will be posting pics every week and I can't wait to see what a diffrence the right light spectrum will do for this plant.:weed:

So she is looking real good now. I am very excited and can't wait to start flowering. It's only about 8-10 inches high and I don't think she will grow in height as much as I would have thought because I did the "y" cut after the 3rd node sprouted fully. So it will be bushy and short. I've had outdoor that was like that but gained height due to recieving more intense light from the SUN. There is 550watts worth here and thats 4-100w 6500k and 1-150w 2700k. With pretty steady temps at 80f and 35-50% humidity. The high side is after it's watered and low is when shes drying obviously.

SO yes it's true, my dog got in the closet because I left it open so the closet would get some fresh air and left to the airport. I came back and the plant was totally eaten.
Now you might say kick that dogs ass. Not my dog. She is a wonderful sweet loving animal. Plus who can blame her. She thought it smelled good and I have let her eat buds before. It's good for them. It's good for us!

I have already started on Dirt Monster #2. I will have to come up with a new name of course but gimme some time and I will spark your intrest with another grow.

Better lighting setup and a safer grow area so my dog doesn't eat it :):mrgreen:
