Shifting Photoperiod to non peak electric hours

Hello
I am about to start a 3000 watt 40 plant grow

My clones are currently 18/6 off from 11pm to 5am
where i live peak electric is 60% more than non peak hours (12-4pm)

id like to change it so my plants are off from 11 AM to 5 PM

Someone told me if i leave the plants in 24 hours of darkness and then turn them on when i want the new 18/6 cycle to start and it wouldnt shock them

But i wanted to ask here before i shock my babies :)

has anyone got any expirience with this?

My other thought is to shift one hour every other day to minimize any stress

Thanks for any thoughts you may have :-)

you can really change them however you want as long as you dont keep playing with the time you'll be fine...

It will be fine anyway ya do it coz there in veg, I wouldent give em 24 hours dark because the dark cycle is how cannabis picks up its flower cycle it will trigger flower with 12+ hours dark! Aparently if ya give em 24 hours dark before switching 12/12 they change state faster. (I havent tested this yet)

Yup. If you aren't constantly fondling the timer you should be alright. That 24 hours of darkness should not be much stress, if noticable at all.

i have tested 24 dark period to force flowering and i can say i love the results but i am worried about triggering flowering too early aswell.

as for switching, would just leaving them on for 30 hours do the trick? (leave them on during thier normal time plus another 12 hours to get it when i want it to turn off. )

this will be the first time change for these clones

thanks for your feedback guys!

Loads of people run a 24 hour light cycle on clones no prob, so on for 30 hours is cool.

Ill try the 24 off next time I flower!
