Shock before harvest

PPL do things a lil different around my neck of the woods....such things as hanging the whole plant upside down with the roots on top so that the THC can run down to the buds while drying, and other wives tales, etc. are the norm...

Which brings me to my question...I heard that you can shock a plant into giving off more chemicals and THC by uprooting it a lil and in a last chance to survive it puts out everything to its leafs/buds... I guess you are supposed to do this a few days before harvest- just need the moe experienced growers here to confirm or deny these claims.

ive heard of putting bags of ice around the stocks to "shock" the plant, they say the plant will realize tthe frost is coming and pushes out the THC. its a old hippy oregon thing haha, i think i might try it also with the dark period.
