Been growing for almost 18 years and wouldnt mind an opinion on this strange condition, basically the plant has been a freak in every way, with the most massive, stupidly massive first set of serrated leaves ive ever seen. This first leaf is nearly 3 inches wide and 5 inches long on a plant that is only 12 inches high! 10 ten times bigger than those on other normal healthy plants. The third set of leaves were very large too but malformed by way of one side being more enlarged causing a banana shape to the largest leaf finger, which was also a couple of inches across on its own. This is on a plant thats is much less than two weeks old.
The uppermost leaf growth is pointing 45 degrees up and they seem to have forced the top shoot to point down also the new shoots growing below are in the same downward almost squashed position and their main leaf is also pointing upward.
I have some pics to post tomorrow which are currently on my phone, I managed to get some cuttings of which there are also photos and these are strange beasts too, basically its like the leaf is up where the shoot should be and the shoot appears to be coming out at an angle in the middle of the cutting, while what appears to be a continuation of the stem is in fact the leafs own stem pointing upwards.
the seeds are pineapple crush from barneys and though in some ways they seem to have massive growth potential it seems if things are not right that growth wil not be even.
I also feel that i put them in too big a pot too soon but aside from that they are growing in decent magic grow potting material. the plant in question has a decent main stem, larger than most plants of the same age but not crazy like the leaves.
I'm sure the massive leaf growth is related to the shoot problem what do you reckon?
Is the condition correctable and could it be an indication of high yield, it is listed as having very high yield.
Are any cutttings likely to be similar bearing in mind they will be in hydro when rooted?
Thanks in advance, i'm just hoping i turned the light off when i took pics r.e the sticky...
