This year should be interesting...
I wanted to do a little side-grow to test out some things on the market. I have used both superthrive and sunwheel organics evergrow and I know both work well, so I figured I would put them head to head for the sake of the community.
...And to make this interesting and to bring back some of the fun, this'll be a guerilla grow. I have my own land but I'm going to secretly put this patch on my neighbor's. He won't mind
First let me say I'm all about saving money and keeping my backpack light so I'm not really into using alot of nutritional supplements. I DO, however, love to experiment and have tried just about everything out there (most of it is junk). There are very few things I like, I'll be honest, am am a bit of a biased grow-minimalist. Ok now let's see:
I have 21 holes dug that are 4 feet wide by 2 feet deep. There's a 2 foot post-hole in the middle of each one filled with soil and water crystals for the roots to go down and find water. I dug 5 reservoirs 4x4x4 that are lined with tarp and covered to keep animals out. It better rain.
I'll be using an old pack of Mandala Seeds Krystalica since those reviews are rare... I hope enough of them pop. In 10 holes I'll have nothing but a good dirt mix and evergrow. In 10 other holes I'll have the same dirt mix and use superthrive. Now, the issue is that Evergrow has alot more things in it than Superthrive, even though they both deal with plant hormones so are somewhat comparable, but it's not a very even test. After looking at ingredients, I'm going to add some general organics CaMg+ to the superthrive holes, as well as advanced nutrients tarantula and voodoo juice. I don't work for anyone and no one is paying me here (I wish), I just think this'll be an interesting real-world test.
Ah yes I'm saving the last hole as a "control" which won't have anything added to it.
Whatever else you all would like to see in this shootout, I would be happy to consider, except major pesticides. Feel free to comment.
