Shop Vac Idea...?

I was thinking yesterday about a good way to "flush" all the hot air out of the top of my box and having a bucket shop vac on a seperate timer coming on a few times a day.

Do you think this is a good idea?

I already have a 4in carbon filter and duct exhaust, but I'm trying to come up with good ideas to get fresh air in for my babies!...boredom haha

I have a 4inch duct for intake as well

The shop can either blow or suck the air out of the box. I'm thinking it's better to pull the hot air out. Maybe I'll switch it up and blow some in at times.

I think the shop vac will only give you a very brief "flush". They are also very noisy. Some type of fan would probably work better.

a 4" duct fan moves more air (~180 CFM) than even the most powerful shop vac listed on the shop vac site (173 CFM). You would be better off using a second 4" duct fan if you have cooling problems. shop vacs are loud as hell too! I realize youre trying to use what you have though... so if you dont mind the noise, even the smallest shop vac moves 120 cfm so it should help. you can get a 4" duct fan for 90 bucks shipped on ebay though if you have serious cooling problems (temps>85F) and money to spend. On second thought, the shop vac probably wont work very well. it would need to be on all the time for it to make a difference.
