got some sunshine aggregate plus for free, I looked it up and its a fast draining mix but could it use some more perlite if so how much ?
other than the wetting agent can I use this like pro mix and mix it with compost and organic ferts ? as far as for how much perlite&compost writing in parts/ratios would make it much easier to mix up

Very similar to promix. You can add more perlite if you want. I use Promix BX and add about 25% perlite.
Yeah I’d like to add bit extra perlite I have the extra coarse one #4 so I’ll do the 25% and it’ll have small and large pieces of perlite .. I’ll do one pot with out the extra perlite..

I live in Los Angeles and it’s gets pretty hot during spring and summer would adding a bit of vermiculite help/be a good idea to add aswell ? If not can I add it for seed starting..

well for seed starting instead of the perlite I think I’ll be using vermiculite at 25%?

also what ratio/parts would u suggest for mixing up a batch?

example: 1part aggregate plus / 1part compost / 1/4 (25%) of a part for perlite

or what ratios would you suggest ?

thanks for the input and not being a mr.mywayisthenonlyway lol

I start with my base mix and then eyeball the perlite until I get the consistency that I like which is around 40% aeration rock. Then I will use about 25% EWC or compost and 75% of that perlite enriched mixture. I like the vermiculite/perlite combo myself but it's definitely not necessary. You can play around with ratios and find what works best for you and your environment. Use less aeration if you find yourself watering too often.
