Should I cut off lower budsites since they dont get much light?

I have a female cherry bomb from bomb seeds. Its about to start its 5th week of flowering. Its a small closet grow, my 1st attempt at scrog. It has so many budsites. I have her under a 150watt hps and some cfls for side lighting. I was wanting to know if I should trim off the lower budsites since they dont get that much of the light? Each branch has about 6 or 7 budsites on them from top to bottom. The tops being the biggest of course, they get the most light. So I was thinking if I trim off the lower buds that it would direct me energy to the bigger buds. So is this a good idea or not? If so if I start from the top of each branch should I leave the top 3 buds or the top 4? any help would be great.

I would leave them alone, you have nothing to loose that way

IMO. No. Leaves produce bud. More leaves = more bud. Bud sites don't need light. Your leaves do. Keep them on and green till harvest. Good luck

I don't know about you but I definitely see an improvement in the quality of my buds the more light they get so I will have to disagree with you on the bud sites don't need light part I find it to be quite the opposite.

I was asking if I should trim off the popcorn budsites that dont get any light, so all the bud growing energy would go to the top buds. I dont wanna a load of popcorn buds.

ok what you do is leave alone. and when its time to harvest. trim the bigger ones. and all the small branches, small buds just pull them off with your hand off the branch and get rid of the extra stems so on quick clean . don't trim them like a big bud . so after it drys. you will have a big nice pile of trim. that will easly get you from 10 to 100 ounce, make oil or some people love to smoke those cheap scraps, for a huge discount,

I trim off my lower branches leaving 7-9 branches first week of flower, and pinch off the inner bud sites in week 2 of flower. I have i get better buds and a little more weight then when i didnt do it. I know some people who dont do it and really have no need to. I think it just depends on your set up. IMO I wouldnt trim them off this late in flower.

Any removal past week 4 is counterproductive IMO. Leaves don't make buds photosynthesis makes buds and photosynthesis is not exclusive to leaves. If fact I'd say a fair bit of the energy leaves make go into supporting itself before it sends off the rest to the nearest bud, therefor in my opinion it's best to let a bud do as much of the photosynthesis as possible. My results were pretty dramatically better then before I started looking at it this way but to each their own

All parts of the plant need light in order to get decent sized budsites going. However by how much these budsites grow depends on how much total energy the plant has to allocate to this budsites. If parts of the plant, both leaves or buds, get less light in comparison to other parts of the plant all they are doing is wasting the plants enegery on that living part of its organism, that flowering stie still has a function it still needs to thrive, but by how much they thrive is by how much the upper buds suffer.
I started getting fatter, denser and more resinous buds once i started chopping off anything i thought wasn't getting the same amount of light +/- 10%. I would even go as far as to say that plants become healthier when those bottom weak leaves aren't half shaded all the time.

I wouldn't cut them off this late in flower if you are going to lollipop the best time to do it is when you first put it into flower I also like to trim fan leaves as they grow all the way up so it only leaves 3 or 4 internodes with fans progressively
