Should I harvest?

Hello to everybody!

I'm new here, just found this cool forum wiith google.
Here are 2 pics of my oldest plant:

The seed is of unknown origin, HPS400 Sylvania grolux.
She should be on the 02.06.2007. exactly 60 days in flowering period.

The buds are more orange/red than white (like in the early stage of flowering). Since this is my first grow, I am a bit unsure in making decision when to harvest. Could anyone help me by looking at the photos?
I hope they have good details.

once the flowers are 80% brown/orange its time to harvest. hang upside down in a cool dark place for 14 days or until you can snap a branch. bone dry try curing some in a glass jar for 1 month air tight. nice plant probly a indica

Welcome Richsmoke

You can get a handheld microscope from Radioshack for $9.99...
Use this to look at the crystals (trichomes).
The crystals go from clear then to cloudy and then to amber.
Once most of them are amber you can harvest.

Happy tokin

Thank you all!

So it's indica? Cool. :blsmoke:

I decided to leave her 1 more day under the lamp, then 2 days in darkness, and then harvesting.

I also have other three, younger plants.
The origin is unsure. The guy that gave me the seed said it is skunk. Doesn't matter, what is sure it has good genetics. :joint:

Here are some pictures:

Rich, listen to what midgrade said - the only sure way of knowing if your plant is ready is by examing the trichomes under a microscope. When 3/4 are amber, she's ready.

I saw that the leafs are curling under. My flowering plant is doing that aswell. Is that an issue?

two days of darkness is proven not to change the buds0
... actually im pretty sure that 2 days darkness DOES change the bud... it makes it think that the plant is dying so it excretes all the remaining resin, if i remember correctly. if im wrong, please dont hesitate to let me know. =)

These plants have a long was to go as the bud sites are barely starting to fill in unless you dont have the light close or something but indicas with a 400 watt hps will be alot more filled in.Heres a quick pic at 1 of the smaller buds from my idicas I harvested last week at 5 weeks flower. The other pic is of the grow are showing a few plants at about 3 weeks flower after 10 days veg
