Should I keep defoliating? / I suck at scrogging

Mind if i ask ... why did you remove the large fans to start with?
Schwazzing. I highy recommend looking it up.

You remove all big leaves before the day of flowering, and on 23th day of flowering. It worked real good so far for me for my previous grows.

But the leaves keep growing real fast, almost as if i did not defoliate at all.

What does the schwazzing guide say?

Had a feeling it was the S word. I have looked it up and I have tried it ...

... twice in fact. It did Jack Shit for me on both occasions so I don't schwazz anymore.

My advice ... I highly recommend looking up the term lollipopping. A selective defoliation instead of removing the majority of the plants primary food source.

simple to do.

Thanks for the reply. Should i remove the lower branches even on 30th day of flowering?

U mind checking the whole video please? There are a few weak branches here and there. Not sure if i'd remove them

The plant can handle minor prunings at this stage of its lifespan. I always remove the scraggly lower growth that will produce fluffy larf buds.

Day 30 is good. No issues will arise if you prune that late in flower. FYI - I usually lollipop between Day 32 and Day 35 of 12/12. Once they start Week 6, the ladies have shown me where my primary/secondary flowers are and where my lollipop candidates are.

TBH - it was a little hard to see below your primary canopy in your video - cause you showed far more of the primary canopy than you did of the stuff below. A general rule of thumb when I lollipop:
  • anything that is buried beneath my primary/secondary canopy and is becoming starved of good light - leaves, small thin branches and small popcorn nuggets far down on a branch - come off. And I didn't see enough of your down below stuff in the video to be able to point it out.
  • I will remove only a portion of a fan leaf - e.g. - 1/3 of one finger of one fan leaf that is covering a good looking flower in my secondary layer. In that case, I will not remove the entire fan leaf.

Over the final 35 days, I like my plants to put all of their energies and hormones into beefing up the flowers in my primary & secondary layers instead of tending to their weak and infirmed parts. Yours truly is also a big proponent of increasing the airflow around the underside to help keep the dreaded "m" word from spoiling your grow. Removing the LARFY shit helps to increase air flow around the underside.

Let's see if we can help you to remove the second part of your thread title ...
