Should I trim lower bud branches?

A friend that has done just a couple grows told me I should trim off the lower bud branches but Im not so sure. I have been trimming the fan leaves hear and there. He said itll make the main buds get bugger colas by shifting more energy to them. I thought if I don’t it’ll take longer but I’ll have a bigger yield and still get the big colas on top with bonus buds lower.??? Anyone have some experience both ways?

if you have a few plants only try it on one and see for yourself, if it makes a difference.

Don't do em all cuz then you have nothing to compare to. Once you do a grow you'll see where you want to alter them to benefit.
I trim lower leaves, but that's just to create better airflow, not to increase buds, the plant will produce if it has minimal stress.

Good to experiment but you have to see how they grow on their own to decide if what your doing will actually benefit.

Yeah take cuts and make clones with those bottoms stems. Make them like a lolipop. They’ll make small little buds and crowd the space and be kinda worthless. I’m talking about indoor in a tent :peace:

That’s the best to try things for yourself and your situation and experiment and pay attention to what does work and what didn’t.

As the plants get bigger I keep 12 inches up from the pot clear of anything. It not only focuses the plants energy, but it helps with air flow.

Wow that makes total sense I will also know the gender and genetics and have my next grow started! Once rooted is it easy to switch back to veg.image.jpg

Things to do early in the grow for $800 Alex. Organic soil auto grower.

I’m not sure how much more energy lolipopping your plant gives, I don’t think a staggering amount by the time it heals that spot.
However the airflow that was mentioned earlier is a big one, and if you don’t have that,,, you may end up with a mess. I didn’t touch my grow on this one and they grew great, I did at the end cut a lot of that won’t produce a bunch just for flow as mentioned earlier.
The best advise from anyone in this thread, is don’t be scared to experiment, if you gain any knowledge from doing one like you said and not the others,,, that is worth its weight in gold

Thanks I think I’ll experiment with one and see for myself the others I’ll just keep trimming the fan leaves. I’ve got plenty of airflow. These babies are constantly blowing around like the wizard of oz lol
