should i wait for alternating nodes, even when a few preflowers show?

Hi Guys,
This is my secound time doing a grow,..so i'm still very green!

I am growing some NLights on an 18/6 cycle for about 5 weeks now.

I have a few preflowers showing,....but no alternating nodes as yet, plants are about 7 inches tall.

Should I wait for the alternating nodes to appear before i switch to to the ol' 12/12?

I don't want to jepodize a nice fat yeild!....but my patience is running low now,....and i need to move house soon! hehe!

You could be waiting for a long time... Switch the lights and the nodes will start alternating. Veg the plants until they are the size you want to flower. I don't know what size plants you're looking to end up with, but a 7 inch plant should stretch to 15-25 inches or so in flower depending on strain.

Switching light schedule does not cause the nodes to alternate - age does.

I doubt that you are seeing pre-flowers on a 7 inch plant under 18/6 - got pictures?

I wasn't saying the lights would trigger it, sorry for unclear. He has preflowers, which are just as strong an indicator of maturity. Some strains show one or the other first. Either is a pretty fair 'green light' that it is flowerable.

Angel has a great point there, don't be confusing those little spiky things at the nodes for preflowers. boys and girls both have those things. Make sure they are really hairs.

thanks dude,...but i'm pretty darn sure they are,...i've done my research, checked out other pic,...and they are 2 lovely lill' wispy hairs.

however, they have only just appeared on the 2 (healthiest) plants and there are only at a few spots so far...
