simplified growing:
Get:
- seed
- pot
- soil (use potter's mix with nutrients in it)
- perlite would be nice
- thermometer
- fan
- lights (MH for veg/HPS for flowering OR cool white CFL for veg/warm white CFL for flower) how many watts? as much as you can afford!
- timer (not used at all in veg, set to 12/12 in flower)
- an area to fit all this stuff that can be made COMPLETELY dark.
- 2 4" diameter ducts to use for intake/exhaust.
- fan to fit the exhaust.
- stuff to hang the lights. if HID is used, the hanging is simple: usually hang them over the plants. if CFL's are used, you have to figure out how to wrap the plants with the lights.
Do:
- Mix soil and perlite about 80-20 ratio. (if you didnt get perlite, skip this.)
- put soil in pot.
- put seed in pot (germinating is better, but this is simplified).
- add water/keep moist.
- IF seed sprouts within a week or so, continue. otherwise, start from top again (see why germinating is better?)
- monitor temperature. 70-80 degrees is best. control with intake/exhaust modifications.
- set fan up to gently blow on plant.
- keep sprout as close to lights as possible to prevent stretching.
- water as needed. soil being dry and leaves drooping are good signs water is needed. do not over water, roots need air too.
- continue for 2 weeks or longer. short veg time keeps the plants shorter.
- turn on timer and switch lighting to 12 hours, on 12 hours off. area MUST be totally dark for the whole 12 hours each day!
- keep watering as needed.
- keep temperatures as needed.
- continue for 7 weeks or longer depending on strain.
- when trychs turn amber time to cut that puppy down and hang it!
- cure.
- smoke!
that is simplified indoor growing and will work to produce some green stuff on sticks. want better results after that, continue to grow and learn your plants and figure out how to use nutrients properly, test and control pH levels and make the lights better and learn all the stuff you can to make things better.
following that simple step by step guide that no one has given you will grow pot... it may not grow good pot though, but it sure can IF you follow the steps and use your head along the way.
using the experience from that simple grow will give you a grasp on the more complex stuff that growing GOOD smoke EVERY TIME takes.
that is it in a nutshell.
