Fly strips. The big yellow sticky ones. Also what are your temps like? Looks like it's too hot.

Man U burned ur plant. The flies are fungus gnats. If u pour perlite on top of the soil they'll die off. About a half inch. Dont use noxious pesticides on something u plan on ingesting.

If you have fruit fly's, no big deal, just get rid of the fruit. If it's fungus gnats, then you have problems. Red stems with yellow/red mottled leaves, points to a potassium deficiency. The red stems can also be from a phosphorus shortage though, but if the larger fan leaves are a dark green with a purple hue, that would point to K. Then again the color of the stems could be natural for that plant. Bloom foods usually have a good percentage of K and P, which doesn't make sense. Did the problem start at the top, or bottom? A nice photo with the HPS off would be good to see.

The "potent fruit/vegetable pesticide" that was sprayed on the plants during flowering might have something to do with it.

And nuts in the soil is going to do nothing but attract squirrels. Then you'll have fruit flies AND squirrels to deal with. I have dealt with a squirrel infestation indoors before...not fun. Had to use napalm and ska music to drive them out.

The way you get rid of the fruit flies is by un-doing what you did to attract them in the first place.

For next time:

If you want nuts in the soil add nuts.

Did you at least bake the peels first? raw peels are not recommended as they DO draw bugs..
