Signs from your plant...

If the leaves are pointing upward does that mean it is thirsty or has too much water...or does it mean something else?

a picture would be great.

let me break this down for ya right quick.

your correct about one thing.. sometimes when the plants leafs start to kinda point upwards.. it could be that the plant is thirsty and needs watering.

there's also another reason why cannabis plants do this.. they will do this naturally.. while growing... as it gets ready to spit out another chute and set of branches.. kinda like a butterfly.. (or well, it reminds me of a butterfly..with the way the leafs look when the plant does this). Like, if you've ever watched a plant grow.. on film.. and then speed up the film.. you'll see the "butterfly effect" that I'm talking about.. as the plant is getting ready to spit out a new chute.. of new leafs and branches. In fact, while sped up.. (the film).. you'll see why I call it the "butterfly effect".. because while the film is sped up.. the plant actually looks like its flapping its wings (wings being the leafs).

Anyhow, I could go on and on.. about plant biology and how they work. But I won't.. for one.. my hands are cramping up on me.. and secondly.. there's not enough room here.. for me to explain it all.

But anyhow, nothing to worry about my friend.. but then again.. I can't tell you 100% positive that this is what the plant is doing.. because there isn't a picture of the plant.

But, more than likely.. its one of those two things.

either its thirsty.. or.. its just doing it natural growth cycle.

good luck!
peace.

Yes this is completely normal being so young. They are just reaching for light. That usually tells me its a good sign. Just be careful with watering at that stage. I have killed tons of babies by over watering and getting to excited. Id say water every other day at this stage. Alot of time you can dig your finger into the soil away from your stem. On the sides of the container. If its pretty dry water it. If you over water the plant stops growing. And the root of the plant begins to rot. Then nothing you can do from there.

Many mornings when I go out to my greenhouse all of my plants have their leaves pointing up at 35-45 degree angles. By mid day, they're back to their original position. It scared me the first time saw this, but they're all still happy and healthy so no worries. It is kinda funny looking though. Good luck with your grow, cheers.

Also its great to water early in the day before the sun starts to hit them hard around noon. But just be careful not to over do the watering trust me. I have that in my mind everyday i look at my plants after all my failures. Start a journal and take pics and update it. Would really help.
