Simple Wiring Help

I know this will not be a hard task, and I feel dumb for asking, but how would I wire two light sockets together? They're just regular, old lamp sockets for CFLs with cords attached.

If they all ready have cord on them why do you want to splice them together?? If you do this with those little cords and no ground wire you will increase the risk that they can overheat and cause a problem. VV

i've run 300 actual watts of cfl's on one lamp cord with no warm wires or ill effects. 300 was my limit, but cfl's require little wattage, and very little amperage, so there's really no need to worry about over heating...

i think vv, he's trying to eliminate a surplus of plugs....

or just get one of these got one at my hardware store for 3.50. that way you can attach two bulbs to one socket depending on ur bublbs i guess. if you still want to wirer your two together then just connect the + and - of the two lamps together the wire with a white stripe or groved lines usaly on it indicates +. then connect the positive and negative from the left over lamp cord to the ones you just connected then cap them off. it would be easier to just get the splitter if you dont have any experience with electrics.

Yep thanks for the help. I didn't cap them though. just electrical tape. I haven't been able to find those double socket splitters at my hardware store, maybe I'll look harder though.

I've run 756 watts of CFL (18-42watters) on one cord with no problems during the first 10 days of flower. I've since removed many due to the lack of females. Add up the amps that your bulbs draw. Just make sure that that number + whatever else is on that circuit doesn't exceed 15 amps and you should be OK.

cfls run to hot and are a waste just go buy a 400 watt hps and be done its cheaper in the long run then buying 20 cfls and cords and splitters and making 20 reflectors.Hell you can get digital 600 watt air cool switchable ballast with warranty for $119 new

just make sure the connection is water proof its gonna be humid in there and could start a fre if it aint
