Single Plant Nutes Inquiry

Hi all, I have been reading as much as I can from this site before asking this. I am preparing to do my first grow. Micro space CFL, fem'd auto seed (Greenhouse GreenOMatic) Going to use Jiffymix for grow medium. As far as nutes go, when will I need to start using them? What will the frequency need to be? I want to stay as cheap as possible, is there a basic nute that will get through veg stage, and then a blooming nute for flowering stage?

Most companies have a couple fo other things to add to it. I've done Fox Farms trio (Gro Big, Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom) and Dyna-Gro.

Alot depends on what that Jiffy mix has in it. Isn't that just supposed to be for seedlings? IN general, once the plant seems like it starting to really grow, adding nodes, you can start easing some nutes in. As an example, I out my plants into their final pots from solo cups on 4/1. About a week after that I started giving them about 1/4 the recommended dose. Then thenext week uppped it to 50%. This week when I feed I will go up to 75%. So long as your plants look healthy, they are okay.

The Jiffy is an organic "seeding" mix, but it is a soiless mix that I assume is ok for the plants life? If not should I transfer to something else once the seedling gets going?

I start out in Miracle Grow seed starter while in Solo cups. Then when I move to their larger pots I mix up my own that has no added nutes so that I can control it better. Mine is about 20% cheap potting soil, 30% peat moss, 25% perlite, and 25% vermiculite - all with no nutes. I add in 2T of lime per gallon of dry mix to help stabilize PH in the soil. I am not an expert so I am not saying it is optimal. But it is working great for me

Ok make sure to mix in some perlite to help drainage, as far as nutes I usually wait half to a full month to start using nutes(but thats only because i use Fox Farm Ocean Forest) and when i start using nutes i usually use half of the recommended usage and slowly increase the dosage making sure the plant stays healthy. And usually i feed ever two weeks.

Sounds like you want some MG bloom, I think it's a 10-52-10
You would want to feed light with it, maybe 1/3 of recommended dose, and only once a week at the most.
It's not the best, but you say you want the cheapest, so...........

Appreciate it! I just read ur 1st grow thread (PROPS!) If I can get an oz. out of the 1st grow I'll be UberHappy.
