slabhead's 2010

Hey all! I guess this is my third year grow journal on RIU. I've sure learned a lot and gotten lots of advice. You can teach an old dog new tricks.

So welcome back old friends and howdy to any one new checking out my journal.

This year I'm pretty excited about growing some kick-ass strains. All I've ever done in over 30+ years of growing is just good old select <and not always so> bagseed. Ha, yeah yeah, well some of it has turned out pretty frosty over the years.

This journal will be a collective of all I'm doing throughout the year. I'll be starting different strains at different times. I'll be cloning and sexing and trying to get used to these new T5's. That is until I get everything set outdoors guerilla style. That's when the real fun and work begins. And some candid shit along the way.

So pull up a seat, pack a nice bowl, and take a sweet ride around my new garden.

I got a little start on a few Sleestack x Skunk, Violator Kush, Papaya, and Bubblelicious. One VK is hung up in the hull and one never sprouted. The rest are doing good.

Hey there cph, good to have you here.

I'll be putting together my bubblebox cloner pretty soon. Thank you for the knowledge. I got a dark blue tub & lid and air stones but need some neopreem collars and an air pump. Still a little ways from needing it just yet.

I'm gonna start some more beans tomorrow. I feel like starting some Dairy Queen and Jack-The-Ripper . I'm expecting great things from subcool's seeds. Still can't believe I snatched them early on Black Friday Sale for just $45 per 10 pack.

I'll be interested to see how those Dairy Queen beans do, thinking about ordering some myself

WOW that is a good deal!! I've been extremely impressed with all the the subcool beans I've seen grown on here, the DQ stands out though! When I order some seeds some day I'll probably look at his first.

To bad about that hung up bean I hope it comes out soon! The others seem to like the light you've got on them, they're not stretching or looking stressed at all.

We talked about my WW being sativa dom, beware of that DQ. From what I remember she is going to get some long skinny leaves and take a while to flower. What is the breeders recommended flower time?

You have a nice group started already Slab. Isnt it kind of early? Last time I set clones out early they all flowered on me except 2 which grew into the Sideshow Bob plants. I have my seat pulled up and will be watching this adventure.

Yeah I cracked off half of that hull but it doesn't look promising. Kinda stunted retarded looking. I'm not quite giving up on it yet. Most all of the info is on indoor flowering times which aint gonna be happenin'. I'll just have to see how it does. Hopefully not into late November.

Hey there GT. I've been looking for you. lol I hope HOPE to set them out late enough to avoid that. I had a few this year that went autoflower on me. grrrr

I'm not gonna be late this year Sometime after Easter usually around here but I want to be ready. I'm thinking around 50 this year.

Alright let's get some dank going.

5 each of the TGA/Subcool Seeds Dairy Queen and Jack The Ripper. This is the order they're going into the tray.




Got the Rapid Rooters soaked <from gal water with few drops Superthrive>and ready to go.



The skewer with the black stripe is JTR and the plain vanilla is DQ.



In we go! Now let's get to work girls. Daddy's got to have a smoke.

Do you remember, I almost tossed out my WW mom. After their first transplant things didn't go well for her and she looked quite dead. A little TLC and she came back around. Good luck with it!!!

Yeah thanks c. I'm the same way. The wife almost <well really she did> killed a 10 yr old African violet we've had by trying to repot it. She shoulda just asked me, lol. But I've been trying to rejuvinate it without much success. I've even tried some rooting hormone on it but I guess the cold weather killed it after the repotting. darn it but I'm still fiddlin' with it.

So Happy New Year everyone!!! I'm feeling really good about this one.

The seedlings are doing great, loving the T5's. Waiting on the DQ and JTR to start popping up. Broke out a jar of stinky sticky skunk from the cupboard to enjoy the new year.

Damn it feels good!

His stuff was very good for me. As you can see in my thread I will be doing Vortex, Space Queen and Quirkle. Wish I had purple urkle. Still looking.

Your nursery looks like its hopping Slab. Going to be a good year, I can feel it.

Thanks GT. Looks like a very interesting year ahead for all of us. I know his JTR was especially good for ya. That's all I can say Makes me think of the Mr Bubble powdered bath bubbles. Smooth and exhilerating on the inhale....wait....wait...wait...heads a buzzin.... open eyes.... slowly...look around... exhale...slowly...slower....there's the Mr Bubble.... slower....colors are getting brighter...ah yes... very nice...very fuckin' sweet!!!

Which is a very good thing. Damn, now I remember ya saying try the JTR last. oopps my bad
