hey guys as the title says im trying to grow in a closet its good sized but not super huge im just starting out and would like an idea / list of inexpensive lights/etc to get for a small space but still get a decent crop sumthing to help get me started than once i yeild a few crops and can move it into a bigger space anyway any suggestions ?

You could use just that 1 light or you can just veg with floros then switch to the hps during flower.For veg you want 18/6 or 24/0 and for flower you want 12/12.
k guys thanks about how long does the plant veg before it goes into the flowering process? im gonna get some northern lights seed off nirvana and it says the flowering period is 7-9 weeks ? also if i buy feminized seeds than do they bud on there own or do i have to clone it to get the plant to bud ?

most people veg about a month; and feminized seeds will grow bud as long as they dont turn hermie
also it says the flowering process is 7-9 weeks does that mean ima have weed to smoke in about 7-9 weeks after planting lol sorry i know i sound totaly retarded im not new to smoking or anything lol and i have grown before but just not all that successful and im trien to grow some decent stuff instead of garbage bud u know so this time im triena get it right lol

I like 18/6 or 20/4 over 24/0 because I like to give the plabt some sleep. If you want a faster growing plant 24/0 is ok.
They only turn hermie if the genetics are unstable or if you mess with the plant too much in flowering (dropping it, leaving lights on/off for a few days, etc).

alrite cool and so i should switch the lights to 12/12 about a month into it so i was thinking ima get like a metal bookshelf kinda u know and hang some florescent lights from the top and have some seeds in some rock wool underneath it and keep it on 20/4 than about a month into it ima move the plants to individual 5 gallon pales and put a hps bulb above it and than probably wat like a month or so after that it should be ready to go u think ? im also gonna use small fans and a ph meter a moisture meter and a temperature gage so what u guys think ?

Yes your set up would work, and you sound like you have a good plan of attack. Things will change and youll be thrown some curveballs but soil is very easy to work with. Im in 3 weeks flowering on my first grow, and my first month went brutal. Everything was fine under flouros and pretty much killed them by not giving them nutes after a couple weeks and putting in a shitty hps that made the room over 100* f... resiliant little bastards came back though so if somehting goes wrong dont get too worried.
