Smell problem in veg room.

This is my second grow overall. My 3 vegging cannabis plants are about 5 weeks old and it is smelly. There is a slight smell overall, but when lights turn off, the plant seems to release a shit ton of odor. It is so dank and dangerous. The danger smell only happens when the lights turn off any idea why? And lasts for like 20 mins after lights turn off

Haha. If smell is a problem now you are going to be f**ked when floweing starts.
You need a carbon filter to get rid of the smell. By the sounds of it you will benefit greatly by researching carbon filters/ intake fan and the effect of c02 to plants. It will also help with heat.

I have a grow tent with carbon filter in a seperate room for flower, but my concern is why is this batch smelling like crazy during veg. I did not prepare for this

Get a 4l ona bucket. sorted.

Some plants smell more than others during veg. In the local hydro store they sell some goo in little cans that is supposed to help neutralize the smell. I can't remember what they call that but I would try it if I couldn't set up another carbon air filter for the vegetative plants.

The lights off smell, I could be outside and know my lights just went out from that smell.

Oddly since moving into a semi airtight large room I don't get that anymore..

To me smells like nitrogen dissipation.

When you cut off the light, you cut off photosynthesis. Meanwhile, the plant will continue to respire until osmosis weakens. Its just the plant is changing to release CO2 instead of oxygen plus its genetic scent. In a funny way, you can say your plant is having a long fart.

Theres ona pro gel thatll work in veg but dont dare use it in flowering. what it does is it literally goes into the air and surrounds any odor it comes into contact with changing its smell entirely. in flower this will bond directly to your plants makeing them smell and taste.. kinda like laundry. really should invest in a carbon filter and high velocity fan if you can
