quick question is this the same stuff I could grow some tomatoes in or what? Lol seriously asking for a friend because that’s an awful lot of rockwool

thats the raw material for compressed rockwool cubes and blocks. yes you can grow i it, but its best getting the compressed form for ease of growing, when wet, that stuff will flop and bend around, making it verry difficult to grow in, the compressed form stays in a block or cube when wet.
if you want to se that as it is, you will have to be verry careful about water logging it. it will cause the rots to rot like it did when i tried to use the stuff.
do yourself a favour and pay the extra for compressed rockwool myy friend. hope that helps
 
Not sure if construction grade and hydro grade are the same. Material probably thought would be contamination as well

Thanks I figured it wasn’t any good just seen it laying on the site lol. I think rockwool is the brand name of the product also
 
They r good for growing, but they are truly a hydroponic medium. They will get floppy once wet and heavy. Best to stack slabs and not have to move em once u start
