SoCal Patient looking for USED growing equipment

Hi everyone!!! I'm a patient located in the LA Harbor area and as of lately find myself struggling to afford the cost of medicine. Instead of going back on the pills my insurance provides, I would like to try growing first. This will be my first time. I normally ingest or inhale the best meds I can get my hands on and after reading RIO for a month or so, I'm convinced I can eventually learn how to grow this kind of quality on my own. Like anything else I've mastered, growing will take a period of trials and errors to master. With that in mind, I know I will be loosing money for some time, while I learn. I have priced out the kind of setup I need and the lighting alone is going to cost around $900. I am wondering, since this is LA, are the any good places to buy used A/C reflectors w/glass, air movers, and CO2 tanks, that don't cost the same as new equipment and without resorting to the likes of craigslists overpriced stuff? Maybe someone here has some of the following items.

Sun System XXXL A/C 6" reflector w/glass ( I NEED 2)
Lumatek 600W Digital (2)
500-700 cfm air mover (need something that doesn't have LOTS of internal sound)
35lb CO2 tank (I don't have any need for a used regulator)
or anything else experienced growers think I may be overlooking.

I welcome any and all suggestions. :eyesmoke:

That would be my only alternative. Hydro shops are way expensive, so I know the need to buy things at a more inexpensive price. Hopefully somebody has some good options for you.

my entire setup came from Craigslist .... I have bought new stuff here and there with the return money .. but initially ...it was all used!

Thanks man.. I've seen you around here for a while now. I can't wait to hear you comments, once I get this going. Hopefully finding good clones won't be to hard around here. I'd love to de-viginize myself with Strawberry Cough (clone only Kyle Kushman strain) and maybe something Top Shelf OG! :)

my first journal was probably better.. ive been lazy recently .. But if you monitor Craigslist .. you can find whole setups.. Ballast bulb and vented hood in the 150 range .. sometimes cheaper... Thats how I started .. then when a grow finishes ..ill pick up a new digital ballast .. or upgrade to a bigger hood... but its always better investing money that came from my grow.. and now from my regular paycheck... :)

my light setup came from cl. 2-600w ballasts and air cooled hoods with 3 bulb(1 still BNIB) for $300. One ballast started blowing fuses about 45 days in but its under warranty still, shops dont care where it came from around here, theyll replace it most of the time. Built both cabs for around $3-400 with hardware. Then with everything else I needed including clones, medium, tools, fans, nutes, meters, etc etc I think I'm in like $1500. That stuff really does add up and you cant buy the little shit used. Ebay works too, lots of kits but some of the stuff is shady and doesnt last long(not my experience, this is coming from others). Id recommend holding off on co2 at first if you have to cut something. I just use the yeast/sugar mix, idk if it works but it cost like $8 and I have enough for a year so if it does nothing its no skin off my back.
