If you're using any decent organic soil it's going to have things in it that buffer the pH and set it at the root zone. There has been a bunch of misinformation the last few years and new growers using soil are all focusing on pH. Checking runoff and trying to adjust it. pH is important in hydro or a soiless medium like promix.
