soil connoisseur looking to switch to hydro, any suggestions??

well I've been growing for sometime now and i always have used premix soilless mix, well I've been getting great results but i really don't like all the soil and dirt everywhere. its too messy. i run perpetual crops every 5 weeks so i want a hydro system that can be moved from one room to the next, i was looking at flood and drain systems like ebb and flow, but i don't know how i would transport 16 plants from one room to the next considering how large the table(s) would be. currently i already use ph and ppm meters to make sure the nutrient intake is perfect within the soil.

this is my first dwc. i don't believe i wanna do an entire crop like this, but i will try this one out. i pretty much would love to hear the stuff i should watch out for and be weary of for this dwc project. so if experienced growers could help out that would be awesome! how often do i need to change the water in the res? what ppms should i the res be min and max for vegging (5 weeks) and flowering (9 weeks). any general information from PERSONAL experience would be GREAT! thanks!!!

strain: Floja (double purple doja x Flo) F3
day 3 from into dwc from aeroponic cloner. 20 days since cutting from plant.
ppm:476 using dyna grow -grow
ph: 5.9

been using azomax on the clone to treat for spider mites, they are exterminated from this cutting.

okay.... why?
i like the idea of no mess and watering... watering 16 (different) plants 9 times a week isn't fun. would you suggest instead of hydro possibly an irrigation system?

some people on here grow soil and only a few plants when you get into lots of plants it becomes a choir
i am also switching to DWC shortly with reverse osmosis and Uv lighting to disenfect bacteria as well as self feeding and ph monitoring system

i am sick of soil as well even tho i will still keep my mothers in soil but try flushing plants and use 1500 litres and 8 hrs later or even feeding them talking 2 - 3 hrs to do try getting rid of 100's of pounds of soil after your grow is over in Winter or even buying soil in winter months
i am done with it also
i am seeing very very impressive grows in the hydro section once you get things dialed in your laughing and its just that this op or any person with some grows behind him isn;t going at it blind
new growers should do soil till they have it down packed

your right, but what would be the best solution for 16 plants harvested every 5 weeks, with a total of 72 plants total (state of michigan limits to 72 per caregiver). what system would be most economical and effective. i have 8 600 hps lights, and i have pretty much everything dialed in (temps 72-89, co2- 1200-1500, 600 watt hps, humidity - 45%-60%) both rooms have the same features besides the veg rooms humidity is slightly higher.

Soil = Better taste / Hydro = Faster growth rates...bigger yields.... I just did the opposite of you....switched back to soil after growing hydroponically for too long.....I guess I got caught in the hydro fad with all the cool futuristic equipment .....hydroponics requires more maintenance and hydroponically grown buds just never taste like some good all organic grown buds.....once you harvest some hydroponic grown buds you will see what I mean.....

Since you mentioned you are a soil connoisseur....I thought taste was a main concern......anyways I don't notice a difference in potency either.......

taste is amazing and a HUGE deal. a lot of plants to tend to takes a lot of time. i am apt to build a irrigation system but I'm torn between that and going all hydro for larger yields. i don't grow organic, i use jacks classic currently, so organic isn't an issue. but taste, yes it is. so if it doesn't have good taste, that means not a good smell either?!

No....grown right hydroponics grown buds can taste good,I didnt say it wouldn't....but hands down they just don't taste as good as soil grown buds....if you are looking for bigger yields hydroponics is the way to go....but myself I am into quality over quantity....with a good soil recipe like subcools super soil you get some awesome tasting buds.....

i dont know NPK is Npk no matter wht medium its grown in if plant is healthy and getting all its micro nutrients it will taste good no matter what heres some of my own mixture of soil look its frostier lol shrimp compost , sheep manure

nice. i agree i love the taste from soil but I'm not sure that i could say "this is soil" and "this is hydro" in a blind study. I'm going to test this dwc out, until thats finished I'm going to build my irrigation system. i would still love to hear more feed back from other users pertaining to growing with soil and hydro, advantages and disadvantages.

Lotsa misinformation being thrown round as fact.

Ive got a crisp $100 bill to the 1st soil guru that can take the pepsi challenge with hydro vs soil & get results that back up the claims of soil having any tastable difference,wont happen.

Grow skill acconts for most of how taste & quality end up,not method.

yup exactly can you tell a diff in buds from out door to indoor day and night difference but in reality when people say hydroponics they assume right away it will be harsh from the nutrients but in fact a properly dryed and cured bud will give a good taste no matter what medium its grown in

I can taste the difference......but it's hard to argue with die hard hydro guys I know I used to be one.....you honestly think medium has no influence on taste.....I used to be on the other side of the fence when I started growing hydroponically.....did it for 5 years and after many perpetual grows,I can honestly say I can taste the difference between the both no matter who says what......but hey only one way to find out........ps think about it.... why do you think all the cannabis cup entries are grown in soil...??
