Soil grow - God bud, jack herer, godfather OG, and big buddha cheese

After playing around with hempy buckets for many years I decided to enter flavor country again, so I'm starting a new batch of ladies in soil. It's not an all organic grow or anything like that. It's just soil with synthetic fertilizer on a very light feed. What I'm doing is replicating a system that worked very well for me around 10 years back when I first started growing successful harvests. It was recommended by the RIU experts of that time (08-10) which was just happy frog for a starter soil then a final home of 50/50 happy frog / ocean forest to finish in. Fertilize was flora trio liquid with floralicous plus. The regimen was very light. Feed, water, water, feed. They basically got fed once a week or so. 10 days prior to harvest I just gave plain water. It was the best pot I've ever smoked. I have a much nicer grow room these days, and my flavor quality does not come close to matching my first 4 soil grows before I switched to hydro. I want that magic back.

Another grower once said it beautifully, "my soil grown flower will leave a flavor on your pallet long after you've finished smoking." I remember my soil grown pot tasting like that. Half hour after smoking I could literally taste the oils of the flower on my tongue. That does not occur with my hydro pot. I believe the magic is in the soil acting as a buffer between the plant and the fertilizer versus hydro in which the roots are just suspended in synthetic fertilizer solution 100% of the time from clone to chop or they're getting washed in fertilizer solution every 15 minutes on flood and drain cycles. The flowers that come out of a hydro garden don't taste as good as the flowers that come out of a soil garden. The only folks that will argue that point are hydro growers that have never successfully grown a soil plant. Lack of experience leaves them jaded. It is what it is.

I've got a godfather OG I got from a neighbor behind me. I then planted 3 bruce bangers. 2 never popped. 1 sole survivor! All 3 god bud seeds popped which are regular. BB are feminized. GF is a confirmed female also as she was a cutting. Today I planted 2 cheese seeds in the same cup and 2 jack herer seeds in the same cup. I want to ensure at least one pops up so I don't waste growth time with any duds. If both pop in each up then I'll separate the 2 when I transplant and I'll have twice as many as I planned. That's aye okay with me :) Nothing worse than having a dud and no backup. That's a kick to the ding ding. So far Jager, critical mass, maui waui, and blue dream have been the best strains to run. High yield. High demand. Amazing bag appeal. Looking for 1 more strain to round out my selections to replace girl scout cookies that was not to my liking. Hopefully one of the 3 strains I'm testing here will be a keeper. If not - onward and forward to new strains.

Godfather OG. She has a great old school skunky stink to her. Nothing but good vibes coming off this plant and I have high hopes after seeing some harvest pics from other growers. Heavy hitter too from what I hear:

2 of 3 god bud's look good. 1 I don't think is going to make it. 1 bruce banger looks like a keeper too after 2 dudded out on me.

Cheese and jack here replaced the BB's that didn't pop:
