I've got 3 2.8 cubic ft bags of pro-mix bx soil, 1 bag of organic composted cow manure, organic blood and bone meal and perlite. I'm wanting to mix up a basic water only mix. Does anybody have any recommendations on how I should mix this up? Also is there anything else that I would absolutely need to mix in? Kelp meal maybe? Thanks

Fill your pot a third of the way with Pro Mix, throw in some blood and bone on top of that, then fill the pot the rest of the way.. Only add your cow manure to the top of your soil as it will burn your roots if mixed in.. Add cow manure as needed.. As in if your leaves start to yellow a bit and are not crispy add more.. Chicken manure pellets work good to.. And worm castings would be a good additive if you can find it

i would throw a layer of blood/bone at the very bottom too, just make sure there is enough dirt to keep it from spilling out the bottom. a little pocket of nutes for mature roots :)

Is doing layers better than just mixing all together and letting it cook? Will this get me thru 4 wk veg and flower also? Thanks

if you have time to let it cook - mix it all up and cook it, then use the cooked mix as the bottom 1/3 of the pot, the top 2/3 should be regular potting soil. This will get you through all of veg and the first few weeks of flower probably. if you have the money buy some other stuff to throw in like epsom salt, fish bone meal, etc. look at subs super soil recipe for more...thats where id be headed if i were you...

Limestone!!!

You will need a PH buffer in order to make best use of the supplements and manure.

I would also add some azomite, kelp meal and oyster shells.
