Soil Watering Questions?

I have read a lot of these forums and not every really gotten a clear answer on how often and how much to water your plants. Nutrients aside, I have 3 Gallon buckets with drain holes and have soil, what should my watering schedule be?

I have heard use nutrients every other time... Is this true also?
And that you should flush fully a week before harvest and then not water until you harvest... This also?

How do I know if I am over or underwatering? How much is that a problem with soil vs. hydro?

Also, I have foxfarm soil and nutrients and use and follow the guidelines. Is that sufficient or should i be doing more nutrients?

Well, I use 3 gallon buckets for veg and then transplant up to 5 gallons for flowering....half-n-half Ocean Forest and Light Warrior. Watch your plants...they'll tell you when they need water. As far as how much....I just try to be sure I get some runoff out the bottom.

I just grow one strain primarily and don't use any nutes at all. Your leaves will droop when your plants need water... try and learn to spot this before it happens. Hopefully someone with a little more exp can chime in.
