Solar Energy - Need help with electricity bill.

I've been looking into Solar panels to cut down the electricity in my grow room and maybe allow some growing space for more lights. Right now I am running 2 1000w lights and everything that comes with a closed room system then my mother room under 180w LED's and my veg room using about 400w in light. I know that I will be needing a off grid system, but will I get a decent amount of power out of a battery to run my lights? If there is anyone that has experience with solar panels please give me a clue. I would really like to know how to expand my grow without killing myself in electricity. I wonder how much you can use before the electric company starts asking questions. I'm nearing $500 a month and it's not even summer. And all I can think about is I need more lights so I thought solar would help. Thanks in advance.

ok sir

first thing is to check the local zone laws and the local tax deduction rules ( some cities/states have certain laws to where they can be placed and some offer tax breaks/rebates )

the next part u understand that to do this means the state has the right to enter the land and look at the gear anytime they want too(if u are feeding it back into system for a reduction on what u do not use).........if u gorrilla it and they see it they have to report it or lose their jobs so do not except a break ......u do this legally or u need land that well only sees u on it ............out in the woods / 10 foot high wall around the yard

next to do this right to run a little still in the woods with a 6 pannel system bank of batteries auto rotate system/charging/converter was around 2200 when i looked into it ......u are going to need alot more batteries then me....u are with 2800w (not counting fan power and ac) a hour........the new pannels are alot stronger and more effective then the old ones.....but u are looking at a SHIT LOAD.....i ran your 500 numbers 65k in my area u break even in the middle of the 6th year and make a profit from it after that

the last thing u have to take into account .......the system will pay for self in the long run and with federal/state tax breaks/rebates ( u feeding the national grid with your extra).....but are u going to be in that home long enough to justify it

your last option and the more effective one ) .....look into the wind power if u are in a area u can set it up and has a nice steady flow ........they pay for themself faster and give more engery

but all of this requires u going to the local borad and filing permits and all that crappy paperwork .............(still was in the woods and i could gorllia it on hunting land a buddy owns ) other wise 200 400 more in fees and permits
one important note ....the correct system for your house u will have power if the grid goes down (get a shotgun and tell ppl sorry suffer in the heat)
to help u gather numbers here

That's a 250W panel, you would need 10+ of those @ $350/ea if the system was 100% efficient to maintain your usage.

I'm all for it, solar power is great. Wind is more "useful", but also more obvious. I want to build a 4X4 room with solar panels on the walls/floor and test some lighting equipment in there.

i haven't looked in detail, but i think you would be better off using the solar on regular household usage. takes a lot of power to fire hid's up.

That would run 250 watts for one hour a day.

My old room mate installs solar panels for a living. To completely power a 2000 sq ft 4 bedroom house would cost $60,000 in solar panels.
