Woke up this morning to this. Feel sick. Any advice on what's eating my girls - and what I should do about it? Final pic shows suspected culprit... any clues?
Hey and thanks for your reply. I thought that too, but it was bigger than I think thrips are... very visible to the eye, maybe the size of a very large ant.
Looking closer at the damage to the leaves and the bug guide here on roll it up, I'm now thinking it could be slugs or snails.
its not thrips they dont eat that big of piece off a leaf they just suck on the leaf and it makes your leaf look like a silver color its perobly a caterpillar ot a slugg for sure cause they like to eat big peices of a leaf
Caterpillar or grasshopper, most likely grasshopper by the shape of the bites. You can use chemicals to get even, maybe use a light cover over plants if the problem is severe. Plants outdoors receive this type of damage daily so it becomes learning how to lessen the damage you occur over the course of the season.
Good Luck
