Spectrum for different stages

I looked in the first few pages and did not see any threads about this but if there is one, could someone kindly point a newbie in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

I have only ever done a grow using hid's and I am looking into LED because I hear it is the new craze and you cannot beat the energy efficiency. Is there certain spectrum we should use at certain stages? Like all white during cloning/veg and red/blue for flowering?

The most important thing I can say is don’t buy a “blue/red” led.

Opinions vary. Many people use 3000k or 3500k for both veg and flower, some will use 4000k-5000k for veg and 2700k for flower, often with added UV, red/far red. The CRI also plays a role. Some lights have diodes of two different color temperatures and switch on the lower k diodes for flower.
