Spider Mite Spray. How long into flower?

I was looking though an old high times from 02 or 03 and found this cool recipe for mites. Perfect because I just found them infesting one of my favorite outdoor plants a week ago. Ive spayed twice and seem to have the problem under control. But my question is how far into flower can i use a spray like this? Heres the recipe...

6-10 cloves garlic, 1 jalapeno pepper, 1 tsp cayenne pepper. Put everything in a blender, fill with water and blend. Strain well and add 1/8 tsp dish soap (any kind But antibacterial) per quart. Spray 2 times a week to start then back off to 1 time a week to prevent them from coming back.

I was thinking about stopping at week 5 or 6. Im only about a week into flower now but what do u think?

With the dishsoap in the mix, 5-6 weeks isn't a bad idea. You might want to leave the dishsoap out of the mix after week 6, and you could get a few more weeks of protection, but you would want to stop for the last week and thoroughly spray the plant with low ppm water to keep from affecting the taste.

Good idea. Ive never used anything like this before and im just a bit worried about the taste/smell if I spray too long.

The taste can taken care of (from the pepper garlic etc) with a good rinse, but the dishsoap would be a little more difficult. I read something on the intertubes of a similar formula, but using egg whites as sort of a "binding agent" and it would also be effective in repelling deer. When you look at how many things (man, animals, bugs, mildew, mold, and cops) are after the crop, its no wonder we get paranoid. Hope the harvest goes well.

You need the a few drops of dish soap to help act as the dispersant also called a surfactant. Helps spread it around even on the plant. You can go till the last 10 days. Nature will get ride of any residue.
