Spine shaped roots

Hello guys! New to rollitup and new to DWC.

Plant- Unknown strain, 4 weeks old, growing a little slow
Setup- 18 gal tote, 2 airstones, 90watt UFO LED and supplemental 30watt CFL, fan and lots of recycled light (mylar), constant 70 degree.
Nutes - Botanicare commercial grade 1-5-4

First off let me say I FREAKIN LOVE PLANTS with a passion. They supply you with everything you need and they ask for nothing in return.

The roots for this little girl(im hoping) are very oddly shaped. They are stubby and kinda spine like. Well, to tell the truth, I dont know if its normal or some kind of strange alien cannabis. Hoping one of you guys can shine some light on this mystery of mine.

Thanks!rootstrange (4).jpgrootstrange (3).jpgrootstrange (1).jpg

I have roots with those spines going down the whole thing. They don't look quite as close together as yours but it doesn't seem strange. Wait a while till they grow longer I'm sure it won't look so odd. Good luck!

Aside from a bit of phosphorous deficiency spotting on the first set of leaves its looking pretty nice. Growth isnt the fastest, though. I thought it was due to the deformed roots, but if it seems normal then maybe its the blooming nutes im using as it contains less N. Thanks for the help!
