SSSC M-41 Hawaiian

Does anyone have any information or experience with SSSC's M-41 Hawaiian strain from the 1987/88 SSSC catalog? I really can't find any information on this particular strain. I ordered 1 pack of these seeds back in 1988 and SSSC sent me two packs. I tried to grow these indoors but the plants were huge with long spaces between the internodes which only got longer when the lights were flipped to 12/12. I finally got so frustrated with them stretching that I just cut them down. They were overgrowing my grow room and they didn't seem to have much bud on them at 6 weeks so I cut my losses and started a different strain that I had experience with.
Fast forward to last year. I still had a few of these M-41 seeds in storage with 3 M-9 Skunk #1 seeds. I had a total of 6 plants germinate from these seeds. My plan was mainly that I wanted to create more M-9 Skunk #1 seeds but that's not the way things worked out. The seeds got mixed up when I germinated them and I didn't know which was which when they were planted. I got one male plant out of the six and I let him have his way with the Skunk #1 girls (the M-41 Hawaiian girls were only showing a few pistils at the time.) I didn't really care about the Hawaiian plants because they were once again on their way to overgrowing the garden and I didn't think they would yield quality bud indoors any time soon. So I cut them down. I still had the seeded Skunk #1 so I was happy. i

Damn, I hit the send button too soon on my last post. Anyhoo, I got the seeds I wanted but they were not what I was expecting. I grew out a batch of plants from the Sk #1 x Hawaiian cross and put them on 12/12 at about a foot tall. I set up my scrog between 5 and 6 weeks of flower. I was using LST on them to let them bush up a little and to try to keep the height under control. They proceeded to blast through my scrog and head for the ceiling. I had to rehang my growlights (1315Watts) as high a I could to give them more room. They ended up stretching to between 5 and 6 feet tall. It got to the point where I was just going in and bending the all to 90 degrees but they kept on growing. They weren't the SK #1 I expected. I ended up dropping down to 11/13 light cycle and cut the nutes in half. That helped slow down the height gain. The bud was very sativa like. Airy, long spear (banana like) buds that were covered with a very fine coating of trichomes.
There were two different phenotypes: one group was ready to harvest at 9 - 10 weeks and had a bit thicker bud than the second group which went 15 weeks and was very airy looking. All of the plants grew tall and yeilded a lot more bud than I thought they would based on their looks.
The best part was when I finally got some dried enough to smoke. The bud smells faintly lemony and tropical. The smoke is very soft and slightly perfumed on the exhale. It the high that got me. My first thought was that the effects were just like the sativa bud that was around in the 60's. The high is very cerebral and trippy. I put on some music and just kind of floated with a happy grin on my face. Very happy, smiley pot with no paranoia. I felt like a twirler at a Dead concert, the music sounded so good. I love this high!
I've grown mostly Haze x NL #5 and Jack Herer for years but this stuff really does the job.
I will post some pics if I can figure how to do that.
SSSC claims that their M-41 Hawaiian is a hybrid but it sure doesn't seem to have any indica characteristics so I wonder if it is a cross between two sativas.

Here is a pic of the Skunk #1 mother in the foreground and the Hawaiian male and female in the background at about 6 or 7 weeks.

Thanks. Here's the same shot just before harvesting this plant at 8 weeks of flower . Notice the total lack of buds on the Hawaiian female in the background.

Here is a pic of some of the bud that resulted from the cross of Skunk #1 and Hawaiian at middle of 14th week of flower. Very long, ropy sativa buds.

Another pic. Long pistils and long ropy buds.
