Start an autoflower plant now?

My room is towards the south, so I was just thinking of putting an autoflower next to the window. It's already April, but the weather is still bad. Mostly cloudy. Temperature is no problem, since I have a heater right under my window. But do you guys think it's enough light already for the autoflower to work or should I wait? If waiting is the answer, how long should I wait.

PS: This won't be a professional grow, more like a little side project.

I believe i would wait till you can put it outside. i have tried putting seedlings in the window and it causes a lot of streching. I have never had much luck with putting anything in the window. wal-mart sells a florescent grow light for plants that's what i use to grow my clones and seedlings and it works great and it is cheap.$10

You most defiantly can start that side project but dont expect huge yields, as the light is not so intense and the night period is still long, but autoflowering plant will grow and will flower under any light schedule, and in to to tree months you will have decent buds!

I'd advise you to wait a little bit longer till the temps rise and plant outside, since you're just leaving the seedling in the window throughout its life i assume stealth is not and issue. If this is the case then you are MUCH better off grabbing a few cfls and growing in a spare closet or cabinet.

Thanks for replying and giving your advice. I appreciate it.

My room is very very very small otherwise I'd have a set up a grow room a long time ago. Outside isn't and option unfortunately since I live on the third floor. I could put out the plant in the gutter when I'm home so it's not behind the window if that helps. Stealth isn't really an problem since I live in the Netherlands.
