Feel free to add what you think is missing i am not an expert. i just made this because it was hard to find out how to grow a plant from seed, so i figured id help some people out and give them an idea on how to do it.
Hopefully this thread will help people understand how to grow a hydroponic plant from a seed.
Supplies: Rock wool, Light source, a cheap little nursery set, net pot, medium
Where to find: Rock wool garden centers or hydro store
Light source HPS/MH from hydro stores or online, or CFLs from a hardware store
Nursery Any plastic container that has a humidity dome
Net pots- Hydro store or online
Medium- Hydro store or online
Procedures
1. Take the Rockwool and get it moist (do not soak) you want it to be about a wet as a sponge after you ring it out. Some people use a nutrient solution to wet the Rockwool but not necessary.
2. Place your seed in the Rockwool and cover with a piece of thin paper
3. Place the Rockwool/seed into the nursery and fill the trey with water( or solution) so an 1/8 of an inch cover the bottom of the rock wool
4. Put the humidity dome on the nursery and place under your light source
5. When the seed geminates and the first set of leafs appear remove the piece of paper
6. Continue to grow the seedling until it is about 2-4 inches above the Rockwool.
7. Take your net pot and fill it up with your medium a ½ inch above your flood level so the Rockwool does not get soaked.( for DWC add a dripper that will keep the rock wool moist)
8. Place the Rockwool/plant in the net pot and fill it up with enough medium to cover the Rockwool.( the seedlings leafs above the medium of course)
9. Congratulations you just turned a seed into a hydroponic plant (as the plant grows add more medium until the net pot is full)
Pictures kindof go with the order of the steps
