TUCSON - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Casa Grande Station seized more than 3,300 pounds of marijuana Monday morning near the checkpoint on Federal Route 15.
The approximate value of the marijuana exceeds $2.7 million.
Agents were responding to suspected illegal activity in the area south of the Federal Route 15 checkpoint, when they detected vehicle tracks leading off road.
Agents began a tracking operation and discovered a vehicle hidden under a tarp and brush.
Concealed throughout the vehicle were numerous bundles of contraband.
The vehicle and marijuana were seized and transported back to the station for processing
