Stealth pc case grow

Well after reading about all of these pc grows people are doing I decided to give it a shot. I picked up 2 cases for $25 1 Mini tower and 1 server tower. I am using the mini tower for my mother and will be flowering in the larger server tower.

The Flower chamber is not finished as I have to rig up the lights and build a small hydro system. The big plant is a clone I picked up a while ago and almost killed under some very bad lighting and then stuck in there to see what would happen. I found a seed in some decent stuff I got and that is in the blue cup. The plant to the left of the big one is the top from that plant I am attempting to root. I am using Schultz 10-15-10 for veg and will probably be picking up some DNF for the hydro.

I finished the server case the other day and rigged up the lights. The fans are running in series powered by a 24 volt adapter, the lights are hooked up to the old power supply plug so I can use a regular computer power cord. I was going to veg the plant in the larger server case up a little bit first before switching it over to bud. the hydro system is not finished yet and I am in no rush at the moment as I am just experimenting. I think I am going to throw 2 soft white lights in the bud case for a full spectrum effect, If I am wasting my time doing so let me know.

I removed 2 of the 23 watt cool white lights and traded them for 2 43 watt daylight spectrum lights. The plant in there seemed to be happier, I am not sure if that has something to do with the increased lumes or the difference in spectrum. I took 6 clones from my mother as well so I hope all of those work out well. As for the hydro setup I think I am going to build a small NFT system and run an external resevoir if there is not enough room inside.

I just fimmed the plant in the large budding chamber and will let it veg up for at least another week and then I can clear the clones out of there and switch it over to bud. I picked up the materials to build my hydro setup and will be putting that together this week or the next.

So far 5 of the 6 cones i took the other day are looking good, my mother plant is recovering well and has a bunch of new growth. I am concerned about the larger plant I have in the flower case as the leaves are tips of the leaves are brown and some spots on the sides as well, they are crispy and starting to curl. I mixed my plant food stronger this week so that may have something to do with it.

The problem in the flower case could be caused by overfeeding but it could also be too hot. Do you know what the temp is in there?

No I need to get a thermometer, I have been really lazy. I moved the lights up as far as they could go and then removed the side panel of the case and started flushing with pure water. I am almost certain that it was too hot in there for the plants, I need to get better fans as they are only $10 cheapies. I am thinking of just building a proper grow cab in a few months, I just wanted to try something. Good news is that I have a few people that want to buy them if I build some.

The seed that I planted looks like it has grown more in the last 24 hrs then it did in the last 4 days. My mother is looking awesome and I am thinking of putting it in the bud chamber as it has 3 main shoots from where I topped it the first time. Heat in the bud chamber is still an issue but I should have it sorted by the end of the week. My small plant seems to be happier and the leaves are not as crispy today. I opened the side panel of my case just at the top to allow the heat to escape. I am sure that if i ran 4 23 watt bulbs in there it would not be an issue but i want the extra lumes 1600 each for the 23's and 2600 for the 42's. 10400 lumes in my server case lol thats a lot of light for a small space.

I finally put a thermometer in my cases today. It was about 30 in my veg case and even hotter in my bud case. I am not too worried about my veg case as I have not had any problems with burning in that case. I put a small fan in my bud case and put both pc fans to exhaust, it was still not enough. I need to pipe in some cooler air from somewhere. As far as the plants go they seem to be doing well, My mother and my small plant both have lots of new growth and my seedling is getting bigger by the day. I need to get a decent camera so I can get some good pictures.

Well I think I have the temp problem sorted out, I had to move the cases into the basement as the rest of the house is too hot. The temp in my room was almost 30 Celsius today, the basement was about 18. I moved the cases down there and the temp dropped by more than 10 degrees in the bud case, it now sits at about 25.

The girls are all doing well. I have the clones and my seedling in my veg case and moved my mother to the bud case. The plants in the bud case have taken off and have tonnes of new growth. the seedling is getting bigger and forming proper leaves. I am going to pick up some seeds soon and start off with a good strain but I have lots of clones to keep me going till then.

I have a question.

[I switched my plants over to bud a few days ago, they have had a fair bit of growth since then.

Should I trim off the lower nodes that have just shot out in the last couple of days so the plant can concentrate on the larger buds close to the lights?

If you bend the top over then the light will stimulate them to get as tall and fat as the main cola.
It's also worth remembering that all the energy the plant needs to grow & bud is created in the leaves. Cutting them off will have a negative effect on growth IMO.

Thanks for the tip. I removed 2 old beat up fan leaves from my small plant and then bent the larger one over again. The small one is starting to grow hairs at the bus sites, Still waiting on the large plant but it has been in there a few days less. I am going to try to use something other than my cell phone camera so I can get some detailed pics.

Put the clones and bag seed plant in proper pots today and put a fan on them. The seedling was root bound in that little cup and should be happier now. The plants in the bud case are both doing well and both are forming white hairs at the bud sites.

My bagseed plant is looking strange, all the leaves are stuck together. I think I have a mutant. I should mention that the seed came from a stash I had in my freezer, maybe the cold fucked it up.

8 days from 12/12 and the plants are looking good. my smaller plant is a lighter green than my big one for some reason, needs more N maybe?

Both seem to be growing quickly and I don't see any dead leaves or bugs.

pretty good comparison pictures from only 8 days difference

Got rid of some of the clones the other day, a friend wanted some. Taking a look at my smaller plant I have in my bud case I think I will be lollipoping of my plants for the other case grows as I can get 6 or more pots in one case and the light penetration seems to be better. My big plant has some red stems ( 2 or 3 ) on some of the fan leaves, I don't know if it is a nutrient issue or just a plant characteristic.

These things are getting sticky and are maturing very nicely. Looking at the 2 plants, I think I am going to get a better harvest from the smaller one due to the added light coverage. I am going to go with the SOG method of growing using the fluros in these small cases
