I am at the 45th parallel and at about 4300 ft elevation and I can tell you that I don't even start covering them at night until the night time temps drop below about 36 F. Normally there is a temperature curve that only hits the lowest temps for 1-2 hours before beginning to warm up for the day. Prolonged exposure to low (but not freezing) can retard growth so be careful but don't panic.

Was 66 here earlier, my grow area gets in the low 70's at night i just cover them up a little.
Fuckit, maybe my one of the bagseed is a strain that will purp up real nice when temps are dropped late in flowering...
Gotta look for an upside, eh?
No harm no foul, probably lose a few weeks to extra flowering due to stunted growth from low temps if they persists,
But certainly not fearing for their lives. And as of frost... what BSD said. Cant argue with Thermodynamics, braj.

Also what kind of plant are you growing? Is it an Indica or a Sativa? Indica plants are ok with colder weather. I live in Colorado and we had some strange weather come our way but nothing happened to the plant still growing like a champ. As long as it doesnt go under 50 you have nothing to worry about

thanks for the info.. im in middle tn. my strains are early girl, big bud, pure power plant, and some sativa/indica mix that they gave me. im growing in containers and i must say i love it. i have always grown in soil but i lst a plant in 10 gallon container and when it showed i stopped the low stress training and what i have is a plant that has a big bend in it and about 15 tops.. i think this is the way to go personally.. i would post pics but it keeps messing up..
